Gujarat Election: BJP Will Break All Records By Bagging Highest Number Of Seats, Says Amit Shah

Union Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday claimed a record victory for the BJP in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections and once again form government in the state by bagging the highest number of seats and votes, as reported by news agency PTI. “The Gujarat BJP will break all previous records in this Assembly election. We all are confident that the BJP will once again form the government here with a huge majority by winning the highest ever seats as well as getting the highest ever votes,” Shah said.

He said that the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is speeding up the development works in Gujarat.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has undertaken many developmental works in the state. Law and order has been strengthened and he (the CM) has also given pace to the economy and improved health, education and various other sectors,” he said.

Shah said that CM Patel is following PM Modi’s development model for the Dalits, Adivasis and OBC community of Gujarat.

After the BJP re-selected sitting MLA Kanubhai Patel, local party leader and Sanand APMC director Khengar Patel, who was anticipating a ticket, had declared to battle as an independent against the legislator.

In any case, Khengar Patel dropped plans after meeting Shah and furthermore went with the MLA during his nomination form submission.

In the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP had won 99 seats. Congress had won 77 seats.

The last date to file nominations for second phase is November 17. BJP has so far announced 179 candidates for Gujarat elections.

Elections for the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will be taken up on December 8.
