Haryana School Bus Carrying 8 Children Plunges Into Canal In Kaithal, Several Injured

Several children were injured after a school bus fell into the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal near Noch village of Haryana’s Kaithal district on Monday morning. Along with the eight children, the driver and female attendant were also present when the bus fell, according to Hindustan Times.

The accident took place after the driver of the bus belonging to Guru Nanak Academy of Pehowa allegedly lost control of the vehicle. However, all of them were rescued and out of danger now, police added.

Onlookers and the locals responded after the children shouted for help and later they managed to pull all of them out. Soon after the incident, police also arrived and helped in rescuing the passengers.

Ramesh Chandra, SI, Keorak Police station Kaithal, told news agency ANI, ” We received information about this incident around 8:15 am that a school bus fell into a canal…we reached the spot and found out that there were 8 children present inside the bus. Other than that, conductor, driver and two women were present inside the bus, so there were total of 12 passengers. All of them were rescued safely and sent to a hospital for treatment. Children have suffered minor injuries…the cause of the accident will be understood after the investigation”.

7 Dead, 15 Injured As Bus Falls Into Gorge In Gujarat

In a separate incident, at least seven people were killed and 15 injured after a bus carrying pilgrims from Maha Kumbh Mela fell into a gorge in Gujarat’s Dang district on Sunday (February 2). 

The incident took place at around 5:30 am on Sunday when a private bus returning from Prayagraj fell into a 200-foot gorge ono the Nasik-Surat Highway in Saputara Valley in Gujarat’s Dang district. 

According to preliminary information, the accident took place as the driver lost control of the bus. All the deceased and injured were from Madhya Pradesh.
