RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for Hindu unity, emphasising that the Hindu society must come together for its security by eliminating differences in language, caste, and regional disputes. Addressing a ‘Swayamsevak Ekatrikaran’ event in Rajasthan’s Baran on Saturday evening, Bhagwat reiterated that India is a Hindu nation and stressed that the functioning of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is not mechanical but based on ideas.

“Hindus consider everyone as their own and embrace everyone. We have lived here since ancient times, even though the term Hindu came later. Hindus embrace everyone. They live in harmony through continuous dialogue,” Bhagwat said, as quoted by news agency PTI. He added that discipline, duty towards the state, and dedication to goals are essential qualities for societal unity.

“A society is not just formed by individuals and their families, but by considering the comprehensive concerns through which one can attain spiritual fulfilment,” he stated, further noting that the values of the RSS permeate from group leaders down to volunteers, their families, and society at large.

Bhagwat urged volunteers to maintain widespread contact within communities and work towards social harmony, justice, health, education, and self-reliance. “The focus should be on social harmony, environmental awareness, indigenous values, and civic consciousness within families,” he said, adding that India’s global reputation is tied to its strength, and the safety of its expatriates is assured when the nation becomes strong.

A total of 3,827 RSS volunteers attended the event, which was also attended by senior RSS functionaries Ramesh Agarwal, Jagdish Singh Rana, Ramesh Chand Mehta, and Vaidya Radheshyam Garg, among others.

Owaisi Criticises RSS Chief’s Remarks On Hindu Unity

In response, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi attacked Bhagwat for his comments on Hindu unity, accusing the RSS chief and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of posing a danger to various communities in India. Addressing a public meeting in Nizamabad, Telangana, on Sunday night, Owaisi alleged, “The danger to Muslims, Hindus, Dalits, Adivasis, Sikhs, Christians is from Narendra Modi and Mohan Bhagwat”, as quoted by PTI

Owaisi further claimed that Modi’s rule has caused distress to Hindus, Muslims, and others, saying that while Modi speaks about demographic changes in Jharkhand, the country grapples with issues like unemployment. He also accused Bhagwat of remaining silent on the alleged occupation of 2,000 square kilometres of Indian territory by China.
