A teacher from a government-run school in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh has been removed and reassigned to the district education office on Saturday after allegations of strip-searching girl students to find a mobile phone. The incident, which took place on Friday, prompted an administrative investigation, leading to the teacher’s transfer.

As per news agency PTI, officials stated that a teacher at Government Sharda Girls Higher Secondary School in the Bada Ganpati area took 5 students to a toilet and asked them to strip after a mobile phone rang in class. They also said that parents of students filed a complaint at Malharganj police station, alleging that the girls were also beaten during the search.
