India’s speedster Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc with the ball in the ongoing World Cup 2023 clash against England at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday. Bumrah scalped two wickets off two deliveries against England. Seeing this, former India player Irfan Pathan has lauded Jasprit Bumrah and called him the most skillful bowler in the world. Pathan took to his social media handle and wrote, “Bumrah is the most skillful bowler in the world!,”
Bumrah snared Dawid Malan and Joe Root on back-to-back deliveries to leave England struggling at 30 for 2 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. After getting a flying start in their run chase of 230 runs, England sustained blows by Bumrah in the fifth over. The Indian pacer bowled two beautiful deliveries and dismissed Malan and then followed up by taking the prized wicket of Root.

Earlier, India ended up scoring 229 for 9 on the scoreboard after being asked to bat first by the English side in Lucknow. This was the first time in the ongoing mega event when the Indian team batted first.
Bumrah also played a useful hand with the bat, making 16 runs off 25 deliveries, helping India post a decent total on what was a difficult surface to bat on. Rohit Sharma starred with the bat as he ended up hammering 87 runs while Suryakumar Yadav also showed intent, making 49 runs in Lucknow. The Indian team will be looking to seal the top spot in the points table of the World Cup 2023 and take a huge step towards qualification for the knockout stages.
