BCCI AGM: Jay Shah, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, was recently elected as the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) unopposed. However, Shah has still not taken charge as the ICC Chairman which he will do on December 1. In the meantime, the Indian cricket board will also have to look at Jay Shah’s replacement.

And now it has been confirmed that the BCCI’s Annual Genearal Meeting (AGM) will happen in Bengaluru on September 29. However, a PTI report claims that it is unlikely that the election of the new board secretary will take place in this meeting. Having said that the BCCI AGM will fall at the same time as the inauguration of the new state-of-the-art National Cricket Council (NCA) centre at the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Date For Special General Meeting (SGM) For BCCI Secretary Election Could Be Fixed At AGM

Meanwhile, the said report by PTI suggests that while the BCCI secretary election may not be held at the AGM, a date for a Special General Meeting (SGM) specificially for the election purpose could be decided in this meeting. For now, Shah continues to be the BCCI Secretary until he takes over in the ICC role.

There is a 18-point agenda set for BCCI’s 93rd AGM. And one of the important points that has emerged is the appointment of BCCI’s representative to the ICC meetings. With Shah set to join ICC, he will no longer be available for that role either.
