Highland man charged with child molesting

A Highland man faces allegations he inappropriately touched a preteen girl in 2023.

Felix Cervantes, 70, is charged with Level 4 felony child molesting.

He posted a $4,000 cash bond Friday.

A counselor contacted the victim’s mom after she started acting “inappropriately” at school. The mom said Cervantes had allegations in the past, but she didn’t know specifics.

The victim said during a forensic interview that Cervantes touched her three times while they watched TV and she swatted his hand away.

Court records show he got four years probation in 2002 for a child molesting case.

Hobart man charged with assaulting underage teen

A Hobart man faces charges he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl.

Adam Day, 39, is charged with rape, three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor; and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor.

He posted a $7,000 bond Friday.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Day raped the girl, who was staying over at his house with his daughter. She had been drinking that night and told police she felt “trapped.”

Day later told her in Discord — a social media app — to delete their messages.
