Lincoln Park mansion that has long been home to Ken Griffin’s ex-wife, Anne Dias, sells for $10M

A seven-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot Lincoln Park mansion that long has been home to investor and philanthropist Anne Dias, who is the ex-wife of billionaire Ken Griffin, sold on July 12 for $10 million.

Dias, who divorced her husband in 2015, long has claimed the mansion as her primary residence. She is the founder and CEO of the money management firm Aragon Global Management, which until recently had been a family investment office but last year was reopened to outside investors.

In the off-market deal in July in Lincoln Park, the mansion was exchanged by two similarly named, opaque Delaware limited liability companies. While it’s not clear whether Dias herself was the seller — when the mansion last changed hands in 2016 for $8.35 million, Dias and her lawyer each denied at that time to Elite Street that she was the buyer — Dias since then has continually claimed the mansion as her residence in public records.

Reached on her cellphone, Dias declined to comment, and an email query sent to Aragon Global did not produce a response. Jackie Moss, the money manager representing the Delaware LLC that is listed on the deed as having sold the mansion, did not respond to a request for a comment.

Built in 2004 by Metzler Hull Development, the mansion sits on a double lot and at one time had a theater and an indoor basketball court, according to past listing information.

The Lincoln Park mansion’s sale price is the highest amount paid for a house inside Chicago’s city limits since December, when an insurance executive and his wife paid $12.55 million for a six-bedroom, 8,000-square-foot mansion in Lincoln Park.

The Lincoln Park mansion that just sold for $10 million had a $149,757 property tax bill in the 2020 tax year.

Dias’ ex-husband, Ken Griffin, recently made headlines with his decision to move his hedge fund firm Citadel to Miami. Griffin subsequently placed four Gold Coast condominium units that he owns on the market for prices ranging from $11.5 million to $15.75 million. Thus far, he has found no takers.
