Man, 22, dies in fatal hit and run overnight in Gage Park

A 22-year-old man was fatally struck in a hit and run overnight in the Gage Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., the victim was in a crosswalk in the 5400 block of South Kedzie Avenue when a gray vehicle headed north disregarded a traffic signal and struck the victim.

The 22-year-old victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver fled the scene and no one was in custody. Detectives were investigating.
