A man pulled from Lake Michigan at Montrose Beach in Uptown early Monday morning has been identified, authorities said.

Chicago police said department marine units responded to a call of a man lost in the water in the 4500 block of North Simonds Drive around 4:30 a.m. Officers on land saw the man, pulled him out and took him to nearby Weiss Memorial Hospital, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner identified the man as Albert Myrsatayev Nazirov, 22, of the West Ridge neighborhood. Nazirov was pronounced dead around 6:45 a.m., according to the medical examiner. CPD detectives are investigating his death.
