In the meeting with PM Modi, Prime Minister Jugnauth expressed appreciation for the special invitation extended to Mauritius to participate in the G20 as a ‘Guest Country’, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated.

Prime Minister Jugnauth conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for the unique opportunity while noting Mauritius’ active participation in various Working Groups and Ministerial Meetings within the G20 under the Indian Presidency, as per the statement.

“Both leaders expressed pleasure over G20 engagements taking place alongside the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The two leaders reviewed the multi-faceted bilateral cooperation between India and Mauritius. They noted the rapid pace of bilateral exchanges in the past year, with more than 30 delegation visits and signing of 23 bilateral agreements,” the PMO stated.

During their interaction, Prime Minister Jugnauth extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Modi for the resounding success of the Chandrayaan-3 Mission and expressed eagerness for continued cooperation in the realm of space exploration, highlighting the potential for further collaboration between the two countries in the space sector.

Notably, during his brief India visit, United Kingdom PM Rishi Sunak visited the Akshar Dham temple in New Delhi on Sunday with his wife Akshita Murty. The temple management couple said that the couple spent 45 minutes at the premises, offering prayers and learning about its architecture and history, news agency PTI reported.
