As Bharat Jodo Yatra entered its 40th day and reached Karnataka’s Ballari, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a fun conversation with the Bharat Jodo yatris on Monday said he hasn’t got any blisters and is not using any sunscreen either to stop himself from tanning in the sun.

The response by Rahul Gandhi came after Congress workers during their regular evening chat at their campsite in Karnataka popped up the question to him.

In a video put out on Twitter by the Congress party’s social media, one of the worker can be heard asking what does he do from saving his skin from the sun and which sunscreen he uses to which Rahul Gandhi said  “Mom sent me a sunscreen, but I don’t use it.” after which, a man responded, “But your face is sunshine. It shines.”

Soon another question is thrown to him by one of the Yatris, who asks what does he do during the halt time — between 7.30 in the evening and 6.30 the next morning — Mr Gandhi replies, “I do a bit of exercise. I read. I call up my mum, see what she’s doing. Call up my sister… some friends.”

Wondering what Rahul ji does with his spare time in the camp after the #BharatJodoYatra halts in the evening?

From Rahul Gandhi running with Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar to him tying his mother Sonia Gandhi’s shoelaces, several moments of social media interests have emerged from the Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress party.

The 3,570-km yatra launched on September 7 from Kanyakumari in the south will conclude in Jammu and Kashmir in the north. It is being seen by senior congress leaders and political analysts as a strategy of the Congress party to improve its chances in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The political campaign that recently reached the 1000-km mark in Karnataka will take around 150 days to complete.
