Virat Kohli, one of India’s most beloved cricketers, has captivated millions with his on-field performances. While he’s frequently seen in advertisements, fans have never witnessed him in an acting role. Recently, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, in an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, expressed that although Virat is a remarkable actor, he should never consider a career in films.

Why Virat Kohli shouldn’t try acting?

When asked about Virat potentially pursuing acting after cricket, Mukesh Chhabra was quick to advise against it. “He is already a great actor. Being from Delhi and a Punjabi, he’s experienced that life. He has handled success with such grace, maintaining himself in every aspect—be it competition, looks, fitness, or mentality,” Mukesh said, highlighting Virat’s well-rounded personality.

Mukesh also praised Virat’s personal life, mentioning, “He loves Chole Bhature, and he seems to be a wonderful husband and father.” Having met Virat at a party 5-6 years ago, Mukesh emphasised how Virat has evolved into a role model for the younger generation of cricketers. “Today, he’s an inspiration to everyone,” he added.

Mukesh Chhabra on Virat’s personality

Discussing Virat’s personality, Mukesh noted that the cricketer isn’t just talented on the field but also has a great sense of humor. “He’s incredibly funny. He can dance, mimic, and his comic timing is spot on. He’s making the country proud, and he should continue to do that rather than joining films,” Mukesh advised, reinforcing his belief that Virat should focus on his cricket legacy rather than transitioning to acting, even after retirement.

Mukesh’s comments are notable, especially considering that several cricketers like Ajay Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, and Sreesanth have ventured into acting. However, Mukesh believes Virat’s contributions to cricket are far more significant, and that should remain his primary focus.

Virat Kohli’s personal life

Virat, who is married to actress Anushka Sharma, met her during a commercial shoot. The couple, who married in 2018, are proud parents to daughter Vamika and son Akaay.
