The event is not associated with or endorsed by the IHSA, which governs high school athletics. Pickleball is not yet considered an official sport.

Students are invited to compete against other high school pickleball players from across Illinois and wear their school colors, a news release said.

On June 27 matches will be held for girls doubles and boys doubles while June 28 is reserved for mixed doubles competitions. All matches will be the best of three games and brackets will be single elimination style.

Participants will receive a free T-shirt, and the top three finishers will receive medals. There is a special award for the champions, organizers said.
