Local charities that focus on mental health and community services will share in the more than $100,000 raised during the inaugural Solstice Century Ride.

Naperville businessman Zac Larson, a wealth advisor and co-founder of IntentGen Financial Partners, created the fundraiser during which 38 cyclists from five states rode 100 miles in a special figure 8 route on June 21 at Oswego’s Arranmore Farm & Polo Club.

During the 16-hour event, 19 riders completed the 100-mile challenge and nearly all surpassed their previous personal best distances, a news release said. The end of the event featured food and musical entertainment.

Several area community service organizations will benefit from the money raised, including DuPage PADS, Loaves and Fishes, Hesed House, SamaraCare, Grow Wellness Foundation and Max’s Mission.
