Non-Local Vendor From Bihar Shot At By Terrorists In J-K’s Anantnag

J&K News: A non-local vendor, who was shot at by terrorists in the Bijbhera area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday evening, succumbed to his injuries in a hospital. Officials told GNS that the man identified as Raja Shah, son of Shankar, a resident of Bihar, has succumbed to his injuries after militants fired upon him from a very close range.

Earlier, Shankar was immediately shifted to SDH Bijbehara in critical condition after receiving two bullets, one in the neck and the other in the abdomen. The area was cordoned off. 

Notably, this is third such incident in the valley this year. Earlier this month, a non-local tourist guide was shot at by terrorists in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The incident took place at around 8:25 PM when the victim was guiding two foreign tourists, and they were having meals in a hotel in Hirpora in Shopian’s Padpawan. 

According to ABP News sources, the victim was identified as Dilranjan Singh, son of Parman Singh, aged about 45 years. The two tourists are safe in police custody, and the driver sustained bullet injuries to the abdomen and arm. He has been referred to SMHS Srinagar for further treatment. Further details will be forwarded accordingly. area being detached.

In another incident, two terror suspects were arrested from Anantnag district on Wednesday following the recovery of arms and ammunition from their possession, the Army said.

“On specific Intelligence input, a joint operation was launched by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice on 17 Apr at Naina, Bijbehara in Anantnag. Two suspected individuals have been apprehended along with the recovery of one Weapon, one Hand Grenade and other war-like stores,” Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Army posted on X. The Army said further investigation is in progress.
