A five-bedroom, 4,951-square-foot Southern Colonial-style house in North Barrington that actress Lauren Holly once owned was listed on Jan. 10 for $939,000.

Holly, known for TV roles on shows like “NCIS” and “Picket Fences” as well as for her work in films like “Dumb and Dumber” and “What Women Want,” owned the North Barrington house with her former husband, investment banker Francis Greco, from 2004 until 2007, which was during the height of the housing bubble in the first decade of his century. The couple paid $1.08 million for the house in 2004, and they sold it three years later for $1.17 million, after making what her listing agents told Elite Street at the time was $150,000 worth of upgrades.

Since then, the home’s value has fallen and rebounded. It sold in 2013 for just $525,000 and then sold again in 2016 for $706,625.

Built in 1999 and located in North Barrington’s gated Wynstone community, the house has 5-1/2 bathrooms, three fireplaces, a butler’s pantry, a kitchen with a large island and two dishwashers, a first-floor office, a primary bedroom suite with a split walk-in closet, and a walkout lower level with a family room and a playroom. The home also has an oversized three-car garage, and outside on the 1.11-acre property are a deck and pergola.

“It’s a wonderful family-friendly Southern Colonial,” listing agent Christie Baines of Jameson Sotheby’s told Elite Street. She is co-listing the house with listing agent Lisa Bobby.

Among bold-faced names, the Wynstone development drew attention recently when retired Chicago White Sox star and Hall of Famer Frank Thomas paid almost $1.6 million in 2020 for an eight-bedroom, 17,826-square-foot mansion in Wynstone.

The home formerly owned by Holly had a $17,736 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.
