One dead, one injured during shooting at Hobart apartment

One person is dead and another injured after a late Monday afternoon shooting outside a Hobart apartment complex, police said.

The shooting took place at approximately 5 p.m. in the 300 block of North Lake Park Avenue, in the Haven Apartments, the Hobart Police Department released on its social media page. One of the victims is in an area hospital for treatment, the release said; the deceased’s name will be released pending family notification.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, and information to be released as it’s available. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact Hobart Police Department Sgt. Brandon Kisse or Cpt. Robert Brazil at 219-942-1125, option 1.
