Ostapenko vence nuevamente a Swiatek y avanza a semifinales en Stuttgart

STUTTGART, Alemania (AP) — Jelena Ostapenko continuó su dominio sobre Iga Swiatek, esta vez venciendo a la número dos del mundo en su superficie favorita.

Ostapenko ganó 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 en los cuartos de final del Porsche Grand Prix en tierra batida el sábado y mejoró su récord personal contra la cuatro veces campeona del Abierto de Francia a 6-0.

“Cada vez que entro a la cancha con ella es otra batalla, estoy lista para ello. Incluso si no me siento bien en el día, simplemente lucharé y lo dejaré todo en la cancha”, afirmó Ostapenko, quien ganó Roland Garros en 2017.

La jugadora letona, clasificada en el puesto número 24, anteriormente venció a Swiatek cuatro veces en canchas duras y una vez en césped.

“Hoy intenté ser agresiva y quitarle tiempo porque cuando ella tiene tiempo, juega muy bien”, añadió Ostapenko.

En la semifinal enfrentará a Ekaterina Alexandrova, quien eliminó a la tercera cabeza de serie Jessica Pegula 6-0, 6-4.
