Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain):
“Yeah, not a great night. In the innings break, we thought 200 was a good total to chase. A good wicket to bat on. We left some in the field and fell short. You have to be realistic. Three games and it hasn’t come off for us. You talk about taking different options. I think our batters are still the best when they take the aggressive options. It’s about whether we could have taken different options.”
“We were not good in the field. We leaked some 10-15 extra runs during fielding. Dropped catches and should have stopped them a bit earlier. But they batted really well.”
“(On not playing Adam Zampa) We bowled only 3 overs of spin. The cutters were gripping off the surface and we went down that path. Probably, address it. But don’t dwell too much on it. A long tournament but not an ideal start. We will see what different options we could have taken.”
