Two teenage boys were critically hurt in a shooting Saturday evening in the city’s Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, according to Chicago police.

The boys, 15 and 17, were near the front of a residence in the 4800 block of South Winchester Avenue just after 6 p.m. when someone in a vehicle drove past and opened fire, police said.

The 15-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and the 17-year-old was shot in the arm and armpit. Both victims were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition, according to police.

Detectives were investigating and no arrests had been made, police said.
