A fiery clash erupted during Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 match between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United on April 23, which Islamabad won by 7 wickets in Multan. While the visitors dominated on the field, the contest made headlines for a heated altercation between Islamabad’s Colin Munro and Multan’s Iftikhar Ahmed.

Munro, Iftikhar clash over suspected chucking

The incident occurred during Islamabad United’s chase. Iftikhar Ahmed was bowling when Colin Munro, after hitting a boundary, raised concerns about Iftikhar’s bowling action. Munro approached the umpire, suggesting that Iftikhar was not fully extending his arm, implying a possible violation of the legal bowling action as per ICC rules.

Iftikhar didn’t take the accusation lightly. He immediately walked up to the umpire in frustration, visibly agitated. Munro also stepped in, leading to a tense verbal exchange between the two players. The on-field umpire had to intervene to defuse the situation.

The moment quickly went viral on social media, sparking debate over the legitimacy of Munro’s claim.

According to ICC rules, a bowler’s arm must not extend more than 15 degrees during delivery. Any action beyond that is deemed suspicious and can lead to investigation and possible suspension if found to be illegal.

The PSL might now have a controversy on its hands, depending on whether the match officials take further action in response to Munro’s complaint.
