Actor Rajpal Yadav has addressed the reports of receiving death threats allegedly originating from Pakistan. Along with comedian Kapil Sharma, choreographer Remo D’Souza, and actor-singer Sugandha Mishra, Rajpal is among those who were reportedly targeted. An FIR has been lodged in Mumbai, and the Amboli Police Station has registered a case following a complaint filed by Yadav.
What Rajpal Yadav said about the threat
In an audio statement, Rajpal Yadav revealed that he had already informed the cybercrime department and the police about the threats, refraining from making any further comments on the matter. He said, “I have informed both the cybercrime department and the police, and after that, I haven’t spoken to anyone. In fact, it’s not my job to talk about this incident when I don’t know anything about it. I am an actor, and in acting, I try to entertain people of all ages, young and old, through my work. I don’t want to say anything more than this. Whatever needs to be said about this matter, the agencies are capable of providing the information. I have shared the details I was aware of.”
Threatening email traced back to Pakistan
According to IANS, the threatening email was traced back to Pakistan. The email’s message stated, “We are monitoring your recent activities and we believe it is important that we bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you. We urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.” The sender signed off the message using the name ‘BISHNU.’
The email, received on December 14, 2024, warned of an attack on Kapil Sharma and his team due to their show being associated with Salman Khan as a sponsor. Following the incident, Yadav’s wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, filed a formal police complaint at the Amboli Police Station, prompting authorities to take swift action.
