All cricket lovers are closely following the India vs Pakistan ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 clash at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday (June 9). While it has been a bit of start and stop scenario with the rain coming in, India captain Rohit Sharma has already provided a few entertaining bits from what has transpired so far.
While the India captain thrashed Shaheen Shah Afridi for a brilliant six off a pickup shot that travelled quite a distance and went many rows back on the on-side fence, perhaps the one incident that has left everyone watching in splits was Rohit forgetting the coin in his pocket during toss. Even Pakistan captain Babar Azam could not hide the smirk on his face.

Pakistan Choose To Bowl First In New York
When Rohit did take out the coin and gave the coin a spin, it was Babar Azam who called it correctly and chose to field first. It was a delayed toss and rain delayed the start of the match as well. Post that, Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled the first over which went for 8 runs with Rohit smashing a brilliant six, finding his way of dealing with a slow outfield.
After the conclusion of the first over, rain came in again with the Indian openers having to walk back to the dugout with the Pakistani fielders too leaving the field. Virat Kohli continues to open along with Rohit in this match despite his failure with the bat in India’s tournament opener against Ireland.
