Rush has announced a tour that will bring it to Chicago for two nights next summer in honor of the band’s 50th anniversary.
The “Fifty Something Tour,” announced Monday, is slated to visit just seven cities in North America, opening in Los Angeles on June 7 and coming to Chicago’s United Center July 16 and 18, 2026. Tickets for the tour, presented by Live Nation, go on sale to the public on Oct. 17 at rush.com; signup for an artist pre-sale on Oct. 13 is open now via Ticketmaster. There also will be a Citi card presale open on Oct. 10.
This will be the first tour for Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson since their “R40 Tour” wrapped up in Los Angeles in Aug. 2015. Most stops will be two nights with a different set list each night, according to the announcement, with songs “including their greatest hits and fan favorites.” The tour is also in honor of the late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, the prog-rock band’s third founding member who died in 2020.
Lee came to Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre in 2023 on a book tour.
Rush formed in Toronto in 1968 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall in 2013. It has released 19 studio albums; its second, “Fly by Night” in 1975, brought the band a wider audience.
