Amit Shah sharpened his attack on the Congress, saying the party was now opposing the very EVMs that former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi had introduced. He added that the Opposition “doesn’t respect Rajiv Gandhi or the Supreme Court”, which has repeatedly upheld the EVM system. Shah said Congress never questioned EVMs when it won the 2004 and 2009 elections, but “started ranting again” after losing in 2014.
