As the first quarter of the new financial year 2025-26 (FY26) nears its end, investors are sharpening their focus on planning and timing their trades. One key part of this process is understanding when the stock markets will be closed, allowing them to align their strategies with market availability. Staying informed about official stock market holidays not only helps prevent trading missteps but also ensures smooth financial planning throughout the year.

Each year, the BSE releases an official trading holiday calendar that outlines the days on which markets will not operate. These scheduled breaks account for national celebrations, religious festivals, and standard weekends. Although trading is routinely halted on Saturdays and Sundays, the BSE occasionally makes exceptions—for instance, during special events such as the annual Union Budget announcement.

Stock Market Holidays In June

This year in June, investors should note that trading will be unavailable on nine occasions. These include regular weekends, and while there are no additional mid-week holidays or extended breaks this month, it’s still crucial for traders to mark their calendars accordingly.

June’s trading calendar is relatively straightforward. The stock exchanges, including both BSE and NSE, will not operate on June 1, which is a Sunday. Since all the upcoming breaks fall on weekends, there are no long weekends or surprise midweek closures to consider.

Investors are encouraged to stay updated by regularly checking the official trading holiday schedule published by the exchanges. Being proactive about market closures can help avoid unwanted trading delays and contribute to better portfolio management as FY26 progresses.
