Apoorva Mukhija has made a powerful comeback with a bold move—by reclaiming her narrative and addressing the controversy surrounding her name. The YouTuber recently released a tell-all video, offering clarity on the much-discussed ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy. In the 30-minute-long video, Apoorva opened up about the origins of the controversy, its aftermath, and the emotional toll it took on her.

Apoorva Mukhija on Receiving Graphic DMs and Threats

In her video, Apoorva shared harrowing details about the kind of hate she received online. She recalled reading direct messages that were not only disturbing but also life-threatening. “Mujhe samajh hi nahi aaya ki kya hua. Ye sab hum movies mein dekhte hain. Ki aisa ho hi nahi sakta. So I start reading my DMs. They are all very graphic, about how people would like to rape me, throw acid on me, and stuff like that,” she said.

She further mentioned one particular DM that shook her to the core. “There is this one DM where the sender had written that he knows where I live and mentioned specific threats. I didn’t even understand what was happening around me.”

Apoorva’s Instagram Comeback

After staying away from social media for weeks, Apoorva returned to Instagram with a series of posts addressing the trauma she faced. One of the posts was captioned with a trigger warning, stating: “This post contains mentions of acid attacks, rape threats, and death threats.”

She also shared screenshots of abusive messages and comment threads with the caption, “And that’s not even 1%.” In another post, she urged viewers to let her own her story, writing, “Don’t take away the story from the storyteller.”

Apoorva’s candid revelations have sparked an important conversation around online abuse, mental health, and the consequences of internet hate, especially for creators and public figures.
