The Will County sheriff’s office SWAT team, crisis negotiations team and other deputies responded Sunday morning to gunshots fired in Homer Glen and took a suspect into custody, according to the Will County sheriff’s office.
Will County deputies heard gunshots from a home when they responded to a report of gunshots about 8:35 a.m. in the 16100 Block of Twin Oak Court.
The deputies then ordered a shelter in place and established a perimeter around the residence, police said.
A little before 10 a.m., the deputies took a person of interest safely into custody after the Will County SWAT team and crisis negotiations team became involved.
The shelter in place was later lifted, but a heavy police presence remained in the area as members of the sheriff’s office continued to investigate, the sheriff’s office reported.
