‘Take Care Of Your House’: Def Min Slams Pakistan On Bringing Kashmir Issue In World Forums

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that India’s prestige and stature have risen on the international stage during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure. Addressing a ‘National Security Conclave’ in Jammu, Defence Minister emphasized the persistent efforts of various anti-India elements to sow instability within the country since its independence. He criticised Pakistan, highlighting the continuous large-scale efforts originating from its soil.

Singh further asserted that the previous UPA government failed to take effective action against terrorism, whereas, under PM Modi’s leadership, the government has undertaken decisive measures to combat terrorism.

The Defence Minister underscored the significance of zero tolerance against terrorism, stating that India, for the first time, conveyed this message not only to its citizens but also to the world.

“We have put an end to the financing of terrorism,” asserted Singh. He added that the government has also curbed the supply of arms and drugs, while concurrently dismantling underground networks and eliminating terrorists.

Singh issued a warning to Pakistan, urging them to refrain from expressing concerns and discussing Kashmir. He said, “From his (Pakisatan) side again there has been a rote statement that India is diverting the attention of the world from Kashmir. I want to clearly tell the government of Pakistan that nothing will be achieved by rote of Kashmir. Take care of your house. It should not be a surprise if anything goes in the kind of situation there.”

During the keynote address, Singh commended the strong action taken against terrorism in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted that Pakistan has no legitimate claim over Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) since it acquired the region unlawfully.

The national security conclave was organized to showcase the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government. Singh acknowledged that corruption has not been entirely eradicated, emphasizing the need for systemic changes rather than mere rhetoric. He commended PM Modi’s initiatives in this regard.

Singh also lauded the significant increase in India’s global standing during the nine years of the Modi government, considering it a major accomplishment under PM Modi’s leadership, as reported by the news agency PTI.

The Defence Minister praised PM for his prompt decision-making abilities, citing the establishment of 22 AIIMS (All India Institutes of Medical Sciences) and 225 medical colleges as examples.

Expressing appreciation for the youth, Singh stated that they possess a strong desire to make a difference. He highlighted the burgeoning number of startups, which has reached nearly one lakh.

During his day-long visit to the Union Territory, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was accompanied by Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh. He was received at the airport by BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit chief Ravinder Raina. Singh also held meetings with several other senior leaders, including MP Jugal Kishore and Jammu Mayor Rajinder Sharma. Approximately 1,500 specially invited guests, including defence experts, retired decorated army officers, academics, doctors, and young individuals, attended the conclave.
