A 14-year-old boy was wounded while he was standing outside Monday night in the Loop neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the first block of East Washington Street where the victim was outside when someone pulled out a weapon and opened fire in his direction.
The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the left foot, and was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.
No one was in custody for the Loop shooting, and detectives were investigating.
