Users In EU Can Choose If They Want To Link Data Across Google Services

In line with the European Union’s (EU) Digital Markets Act (DMA), Google announced that users in the European Economic Area (EEA) now have the option to decide whether they want to link their data across Google services. “We currently share data across some Google products and services for specific purposes, such as personalising content and ads based on your settings,” Google stated in a blog post.

“Today, users in the EEA can visit their Google Account settings and opt to continue sharing data across Google services by linking them,” it further explained.

Instagram, Facebook Suffer Outage Globally

Instagram and Facebook, the social media behemoths owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, are facing a widespread service disruption that left users nationwide grappling with inaccessible platforms. The outage, which emerged late on Tuesday, prompted a flurry of frustrated users to take to alternative social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), where they expressed their grievances with a dose of humour through memes. Even X owner Elon Musk hasn’t held back from taking a potshot at Meta.

London-based consumer tech brand Nothing on Tuesday (March 5) launched its latest product, the Nothing Phone 2a. The Nothing Phone 2a has been launched in India for Rs 23,999 for the 8GB/128GB storage model without any bank offers. There are two other storage models from the company. The phone is available for a special launch price of Rs 19,999 just for one day on March 12 on e-commerce platform Flipkart, the company said during the launch in New Delhi.
