A truck carrying sacks of chillies caught fire after coming into contact with a high-tension wire in the Gondal Kolithad of Gujarat. Despite the fire, the truck continued moving for 10 kilometers, during which the chillies, worth lakhs, were destroyed.

According to a report by Jagran, the incident occurred as the truck was crossing a river near Hadmatala village. The driver was unaware of the tragedy that the truck had caught fire and continued driving on the road. People standing along the roadside noticed the burning truck and started chasing it.

The truck finally stopped after traveling about 10 kilometers, and only then did the driver realise the fire. The truck was quickly overturned to prevent further damage, but by then, the chilli sacks were completely burnt.

The truck was carrying 158 sacks of chillies. While crossing a bridge over a river, it came into contact with an 11-kilovolt high-tension wire, which sparked the fire. Despite this, the truck kept moving.

After the truck stopped, the Gondal Fire Brigade arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. However, by the time they arrived at the scene, the entire consignment had been destroyed. Fortunately, no casualties were reported during the incident. The consignment belonged to a businessman from Rajasthan.
