A 14-year-old boy and another person were seriously injured in a shooting Wednesday night in the North Lawndale neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

A gunman fired shots at the boy and another male victim of unknown age while they were inside Douglass Park near the 1400 block of South Sacramento Drive just after 7 p.m., police said.

The 14-year-old was shot in the neck and the other victim was shot in the back, officials said. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Asked if anyone was in custody, police said they could not confirm that information on Wednesday night as Harrison Area detectives were investigating.
