Two teens were wounded, one critically, in a shooting in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side late Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Police said a man and a woman, both 18, were on the sidewalk on the 8000 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue around 5:40 p.m. when three people drove up, got out of a vehicle and opened fire. The shooters then ran east on East 80th Street, police said.

The man was shot five times in the buttocks and twice in the arm and was taken to University of Chicago Hospital in good condition. The woman was shot once in the chest and taken to the same hospital in critical condition, police said.

There was no one in custody related to the shooting Thursday night and area detectives were investigating.
