Vinesh Phogat, the star Indian wrestler who was disqualified from Paris Olympics 2024, has officially appealed the decision with the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). Notably, Phogat has filed the appeal after she was not allowed to compete in the Women’s Freestyle 50 kg wrestling final for being overweight by 100 grams. Vinesh had won the semifinal 5-0 and had become the first female grappler from India to reach an Olympic final.
