WATCH: Fresh Spell Of Rain Lashes Parts Of Delhi-NCR, Badarpur Witnesses Waterlogging

Delhiites on Saturday woke up to a fresh spell of rain. The showers brought the people some respite from the scorching heat. The rainfall, however, triggered waterlogging in some areas, like Badarpur. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Delhi-NCR is likely to get more rain as the day progresses. The temperature recorded at 7 am in Delhi stood at 28 degrees Celsius, with a 90 per cent humidity.

Visuals from the Vasant Vihar were also shared where locals were seen commuting like normal while getting drenched due to the downpours.

The third set of visuals shared by ANI was from Delhi’s RK Puram area where

The fourth set of visuals was from East Delhi and was shared by the news agency PTI.

The maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to rise and hover around 36 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature, too, may increase and hover between 26 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius over the week. The IMD has forecast a ‘generally cloudy sky’ till Thursday. 

The national capital earlier witnessed a fresh spell of moderate to heavy-intensity showers on Friday evening. According to the IMD, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 26.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature reached 35 degrees Celsius on Friday.

The IMD on Friday forecasted light-intensity showers in parts of the city for today, with the maximum temperature expected to settle at around 34 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) of Delhi falls in the moderate category, with the AQI recorded at 105. AQI levels are categorized as follows: 0 to 50 (good), 51 to 100 (satisfactory), 101 to 200 (moderate), 201 to 300 (poor), 301 to 400 (very poor), and 401 to 500 (severe).

The IMD has also forecast ‘very to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms’ in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan on Saturday. Punjab and Haryana are also likely to get showers.
