Red streaks lit up the sky and explosions echoed through the Samba sector of Jammu as India’s air defense intercepted Pakistani drones amid a precautionary blackout.
Meanwhile, complete blackouts have been enforced in several regions, including Akhnoor and Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ambala and Panchkula in Haryana, Firozpur in Punjab, and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, as tensions continue to escalate along the India-Pakistan border.
On Thursday, Pakistan violated the ceasefire once again, launching multiple airspace breaches and drone incursions on the night of May 7 and 8, targeting Indian military positions.
During a press briefing on Friday, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi disclosed that 300 to 400 drones had been deployed across 36 locations, with many being intercepted by Indian forces using both kinetic and non-kinetic methods. Preliminary findings indicate that the drones were Turkish-made Asisguard Songar models.

Pakistan is trying to intercept the air space of India but have not succeeded yet. During the press briefing, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi stated, “On the night of May 7 and 8, the Pakistani army repeatedly violated Indian airspace across the entire western border, targeting military infrastructure. Additionally, they fired heavy-caliber weapons along the Line of Control. Approximately 300 to 400 drones were deployed in attempts to infiltrate at 36 locations.”
