Dedicated entirely to the worship of Lord Shiva, this sacred month is observed with devotion and spiritual discipline. Devotees believe that performing special prayers and rituals during this time helps in seeking the divine blessings of Lord Shiva.

Among all the days in the month, Sawan Mondays or Sawan Somwars hold special significance. On these days, devotees observe fasts known as Sawan Somwar Vrats, offering prayers and performing abhishek (ritual bathing of the Shiva Linga) to please the deity.
