The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to get to get underway in Pakistan next year. As many as 8 teams are set to take part in the forthcoming ICC tournament. While the world cricket governing body has already confirmed its schedule, there is still no clarity on whether India would be travelling to Pakistan for this competition. Notably, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is all set to take over as the ICC Chairman and he will be taking charge in his new role on December 1. Amid all this, a Pakistani great has made a special request to Shah.

The Pakistani legend happens to be none other than Younis Khan. A veteran of 118 Tests and 265 ODIs has urged Shah to show sportsman spirit and send the Indian team to Pakistan.

“The cricket should uplift with the appointment of Jay Shah as the ICC chief. Jay Shah needs to show the sportsman spirit, as with the good initiatives of the ICC chief, India can come to Pakistan to play cricket. In the same way, Pakistan can visit India,” the former skipper was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan Beat India In ICC Champions Trophy Final 2017

Notably, the Champions Trophy tournament is returning after a bit of a gap. The last time the tournamemt was played was back in 2017 which was when Pakistan managed to get the better of India in the final at the The Oval in London. India conceded 338/4 in 50 overs with Fakhar Zaman smashing a century for the Men in Green.

In response, it was a Mohammad Amir special to remove the Indian top-order cheaply after which India were way behind in the match. Hardik Pandya did play a valiant knock of 76 off 43 but Pakistan ended up winning the match by 180 runs with the Virat Kohli-led side getting all out for 158.
