A woman is in custody after a 57-year-old man was found fatally shot early Sunday morning in the city’s South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
Officers responded to the 8500 block of South Parnell Avenue around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, where a man was found inside a residence with a gunshot wound in the chest, police reported. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
A 60-year-old woman suspected of the shooting was on the scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody, police said. Police also reported that a weapon was recovered on the scene.
Area Two Detectives are investigating.
