A 31-year-old woman was shot and killed early Saturday night in Bridgeport, Chicago police said.

The woman was outside in the 800 block of West 27th Street around 8:40 p.m. when she was shot by a man in a dark-colored sedan. Police said they think the offenders were attempting to rob her.

She was struck in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The woman was identified Sunday as Gabriela Ochoa.

There is no one in custody, and an investigation is ongoing.
