Women’s Enrolment In Engineering, Science, Technology At 42% In India, More Than US: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the enrolment of women in fields of engineering, science, and technology in India is 42 percent today which is more than developed nations like the United States. Speaking at the post-budget webinar on women empowerment, PM Modi also said that India has moved from women development to women-led development.

“Enrolment of women in fields of engineering, science, technology in India is 42 percent today, this is more than developed nations like the US,” PM Modi said as quoted by the news agency PTI. He also said, “We have moved the country from women development to women-led development: PM Modi at a post-budget webinar on women empowerment”.

Speaking about the Mudra loan, PM Modi said, “70 percent of beneficiaries of Mudra loan are women, they are increasing earnings of their families and opening new economic avenues for the nation,” as quoted by PTI. PM Modi also said that the vision of making unicorns in self-help groups has been brought in this year’s vision. “Can we make unicorns in self-help groups too, we have brought that vision in this year’s budget,” PM Modi said.

Speaking on the involvement of women in various fields PM Modi said that many fields are showcasing the power, and decision-making ability of women and Nari Shakti is playing a crucial role in increasing the speed and scale of India’s progress. “Women’s involvement in every field has increased in the country. Many fields are showcasing the pa ower, decision-making abilithe ty of women. Nari Shakti is playing crucial role in increasing speed & scale of India’s progress,” PM Modi said as quoted by the news agency ANI.

He also said that women-led development is one of the significant topics at the G20 summit. “In the last 9 years, India is moving forward with the vision of women-led development and taking it to the global stage. Women-led development is one of the significant topics at the G20 summit,” PM Modi said as quoted by ANI.
