YouTube Music New Feature: Personal Radio Might Soon Become Shareable, How To Enable It

YouTube is apparently testing a new feature that will let users share their personal radio with others if they want. According to reports, this new feature is likely to make the user’s personal radio sharable. To add to  this, it will also allow others to add it to their playlists. The personal radio feature has been available on YouTube Music for quite some time now and it refreshes daily based on the played songs. At the moment, it remains unclear whether the feature is only available in beta or if all users will slowly get access to it.

YouTube Music New Feature: Personal Radio To Be Shareable

A Reddit user, Rolan_Albarico, spotted the said feature first and said, “Just got a public playlist that’s sharable and updates on real time based on what I usually listen to”. On the YouTube Music app, this public playlist is known as personal radio, and it is based on users’ choice of songs or songs that they have shown a preference for.

These songs are chosen by an algorithm that tracks users’ in-app activity and listening habits, curating a playlist of their favorite tracks. One can check this by going to Profile > Your Channel, and scrolling down. You will be able to spot it in the section where the user can see their top four stats.

Rolan_Albarico also shared a link to their shareable personal radio. The description read, “Made for sharing. Based on their recent music and always updating.”

How To Enable YouTube Music’s New Feature

As per a report by 9to5Google, this new feature of YouTube at the moment is only available to those who have set their stats to public. It hasn’t been widely rolled out yet but when it does, here are the steps that will help you enable the feature.

  • Open the YouTube Music app > Click on your profile icon.
  • Go to Settings > Click on Privacy and location.
  • Go to Enable public personal radio > Click on the toggle next to it to enable it.
  • Confirm changes.
