‘Smashing Victory, Boys!’: Politicians Across Spectrum Join Nation To Congratulate Team India

Politicians cutting across party lines joined the nation in congratulating Team India for their victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday. The ‘Men in Blue’ scripted their win over New Zealand with four wickets at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Team India on its “stunning victory”. 

“A victory that scripts history,” said the Bharatiya Janata Party leader in a post on X. “Your fiery energy and unassailable dominance on the pitch made the nation proud, setting a new benchmark for cricketing excellence. May you always come off with flying colours,” he added.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi cheered the boys for the “smashing victory.” 

“Each one of you has made a billion hearts swell with pride,” he said, adding “Team India’s phenomenal run in the tournament, marked by brilliant individual performances and sheer dominance on the field, has been truly inspiring.” 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee hailed the final match as “breathtaking” saying “our boys showed power and resilience of the highest order, kept consistency, and we won the trophy with prowess!” 

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta boasted that Team India once again proved, “We are the champions.” 

“What a match!” exclaimed former Delhi Deputy CM and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia. “India shines again under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma! This victory is not just a trophy, but the dream of crores of Indians which has come true today!” he said.

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin dubbed India’s feat “a flawless campaign, a perfect ending!” “Rohit and his men rise to the occasion, delivering a campaign of excellence, a final of composure, and a victory to cherish,” said the DMK chief.

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu praised the Team India for once again making the nation proud. “I join the nation in celebrating the wonderful victory of our Men in Blue! Team India has once again made us proud with their stellar performance, defeating New Zealand to lift the ICC Champions Trophy,” said the Telugu Desam Party chief.
