WGN-Channel 9 co-anchor and investigative reporter Ben Bradley on Oct. 17 sold his custom-built, six-bedroom, 6,113-square-foot house in Hinsdale for $1.76 million.
A south suburban native, Bradley, 47, spent 14 years at WLS-Channel 7 before joining WGN in 2017. He currently co-anchors the station’s 4 p.m. newscast.
Through a land trust, Bradley paid $1.38 million in June 2010 to buy the three-story, 12-room house from its builder, Oakley Home Builders. The house has 5½ bathrooms, two fireplaces, a dining room with a tray ceiling, refinished hardwood floors, new lighting, new countertops, new paint and new carpeting. Outside, the 0.2-acre property has a patio and an outdoor fireplace.
Bradley first listed the house in June for $1.89 million and cut his asking price to $1.82 million in July.
Bradley’s listing agent, Julie Sutton, declined to comment on the sale.
According to the Cook County treasurer’s office, the house had a $4,999 property tax bill in the 2020 tax year and will have an approximately $5,500 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.
