WGN-Channel 9 weekend news anchor and political reporter Tahman Bradley and his wife, Jennifer, in November paid $830,000 for a newly built, four-bedroom, 3,283-square-foot contemporary-style house in the Northwest Side Forest Glen neighborhood.
A Chicago-area native and a graduate of Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, Bradley joined WGN as a general assignment reporter in 2015 after working for close to a decade for ABC News. In late 2016, he was promoted to weekend anchor and also to be WGN’s political reporter.
In Forest Glen, the Bradleys’ new house has 3½ bathrooms and sits on an oversize, 37.5-foot-wide lot. The home’s exterior has James Hardie siding and stone accents, while inside, the house has a combined living and dining room with a gas fireplace and a floor-to-ceiling Carrara marble-inspired surround.
The home also has a finished lower level with a large rec room and a wet bar, along with a kitchen with stainless steel Bosch appliances, contemporary flat panel cabinetry with under-cabinet lighting, a peninsula with bar seating, a butler’s pantry and a pantry closet. The house’s primary bedroom suite has two large closets and a bathroom with designer tile and dual vanities, while the family room has oversize windows.
In a telephone interview, Bradley told Elite Street that he and his wife were very intentional about their choice of location for their home.
“My wife and I strongly considered (buying in) the suburbs, but at the end of the day, we love Chicago,” Bradley told Elite Street. “Our heart was with Chicago.”
The house was first listed in June for $925,000, and the seller, MK Construction & Home Builders, cut its asking price approximately once each month to $899,000, $884,900, $869,000 and $849,000 before finding a buyer.
