Stocks Inch Higher Ahead of Tech Earnings

U.S. stocks edged higher Wednesday as rising oil prices lifted energy shares and investors awaited earnings reports from major technology companies. 

The S&P 500 rose 0.5%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.4%. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.8%.
